I'm a reluctant "car guy"
I'm a car guy, but not your typical car guy. I've always enjoyed buying and selling cars because of the people you meet. Also, buying a used car is like a treasure hunt -- you never know what you'll find. Here's an Edmunds car I'm getting ready to sell. Drew took this picture of me cleaning the engine. It was satisfying to see the dusty surfaces gleam.

Phil - Your title is reluctant "car guy". I think I know what you mean but it'd be interesting to hear your explanation. Glad you're doing this blog. It will be fun to read a paragraph everyday or so.
ReplyDeleteSince our weather turned better this week, we were able to get our garage squeeged out and our cars back to looking better. Since you live in SoCal, you've probably forgotten how when you pull into a garage with all those snow "turds" under your car and it melts, you have a flood in your garage. I'm looking for an elegant solution. Mats meant to catch gallons of runoff cost upwards of $275 or so. Someone suggested a simple tarp that you can just pull out and shake everything off. If it had a lip, that'd work just fine. The real problem is the gravel in your tread that will poke holes in just about any material. Any ideas?
Yours truly
"Flooded"
Kern,
ReplyDeleteI'm a "reluctant car guy" because I think we place too much importance on cars and waste a lot of money on them. I work with car guys and some of them think of nothing else.
If you had some kind of sausage-like tube filled with absorbant stuff that you could put around the place each car parks at least the water would be directed back outside. Here's your chance to start a multimillion dollar company.
